The National Competency Standard (NCS) system is a national system that classifies the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to perform tasks at various workplaces.
What is the purpose of the National Competency Standard (NCS)?
The NCS system aims to solve the “skill-mismatch” between corporations, academic programs, and training institutes, and to improve the credibility of the qualifications by integrating "field skills - vocational education/training - qualifications.”
- Discrepancies between the requirements of corporations, the curriculum at universities, and qualification standards have led to dissatisfaction among students and consumers (industry, students), and an overall deterioration in the credibility of professional certificates
- Gumi University utilizes the National Competency Standard (NCS) to improve its academic programs to provide field and industry-oriented learning content
- To better prepare students for the meritocracy-based society the government is attempting to establish, the University actively uses the National Competency Standard (NCS) system and operates platforms related to the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
